WooCommerce is the leading infrastructure of not just WordPress-based e-commerce websites, but all online stores. That’s right: WooCommerce is the most popular e-commerce solution on the web, just like WordPress is the most popular content management system. And just like WordPress has thousands of plugins, WooCommerce (which, in essence, is itself a WordPress plugin) has hundreds of extensions written by developers to increase the functionality of online stores. In this article (or listicle), I’m going to list some of the best free WooCommerce extensions available in the WordPress ecosystem.
Without further introduction, let’s begin!
Bulk Discounts for Everyone!
WooCommerce Bulk Discount is a surprisingly detailed extension about bulk discounts–only bulk discounts. I have to say, I’m really impressed with this plugin. It has an extended set of features that you don’t expect from a plugin that offers bulk discount options.
Try it out, if you need it.
Customize Your Checkout Pages
WooCommerce Checkout Manager does exactly what its title says: It manages the “Checkout” screen of your store. It allows you to remove the default fields and add new, custom fields and even display them conditionally.
Customize Your Store with Many, Many Tweaks
WooCommerce Customizer is a nice little plugin with a few features that are critical to users. The tweaks look small (like changing the number of products displayed per page, or checking the “create new account” checkbox by default), but they can make a huge difference to your store.
Inject Google Analytics into Your Store
WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration doesn’t need a thorough description, so it doesn’t have one. It lets you integrate Google Analytics to your store. That’s all.
Generate PDF Invoices & Slips on the Fly
WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packaging Slips is a customizable PDF invoice generator. I haven’t checked, but it’s probably the most popular “PDF generator” extension out there–it might even be one of the most popular free WooCommerce extensions. It has neat features especially for stores with lots of work on shipping and invoicing.
Change the View of Your Product Archives
WooCommerce Product Archive Customiser is one of the simpler plugins in this list, allowing you to do one thing: Change the product archive pages. You can set the number of products to show on each page, and show or hide elements like product categories and stock levels. Perfect for those who seek minimalism in their product lists.
Export Your Whole Store, Anytime
WooCommerce – Store Exporter is an extensive solution to a not-so-small problem: exporting your products. You can fine-tune the export files, which is a plus. You have to pay to import your exports, which is a minus.
Make Your Product Images Zoomable
YITH WooCommerce Zoom Magnifier adds a magnifier to your product images so your visitors/customers can zoom in on them. Need I say more?
Boost Your WooCommerce Store (with Rockets, Apparently)
Booster for WooCommerce (formerly named as “WooJetpack” or “WooCommerce Jetpack”, which–I presume–gave the meaning to the weirdly hilarious mascot) is my favorite WooCommerce extension in this list. It has so many features as a free plugin, and it has even more if you pay for “Booster Plus”. Check out the features in the plugin page, and give it a shot if you’re convinced.
Conclusion
